Claudia Linares

With 15 years at the crossroads of international arbitration, litigation finance, and energy law across multiple jurisdictions, Claudia Linares founded Fortalea Law to bring that depth of knowledge to clients navigating the complexities of different legal systems — offering a perspective that goes beyond traditional legal practice.

Most recently, as Head of the International Arbitration and Litigation vertical at Parabellum Capital, one of the world's premier litigation funders, Claudia built and led a worldwide practice with a mandate for the sourcing, development, negotiation, and management of investments in complex, high-value international disputes. In that role, she originated and evaluated arbitration and litigation opportunities globally, negotiated investment agreements, and advised on dispute strategy, risk assessment, and case development throughout the life cycle of international matters — working closely with claimants, law firms, and experts across jurisdictions and legal systems.

Prior to Parabellum, Claudia was Vice President at Tenor Capital Management. Over the course of her over eight years in litigation finance, she assessed hundreds of cases across the world. Her work earned her recognition from Chambers & Partners and Leaders League as a leading practitioner in litigation finance.

Before entering the litigation finance world, Claudia practiced international arbitration and energy law at a U.S. law firm, representing clients in international arbitration proceedings and advising on complex cross-border energy and infrastructure disputes throughout Latin America. Earlier in her career, Claudia worked for the Colombian government, including the Colombian Ministry of Finance, the Office of the Comptroller General, and the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH), where she was appointed Chief Legal Officer of Bid Round Colombia 2012 — the country's international oil and gas tender process — overseeing the award of 50 concessions and more than $2.6 billion in foreign and domestic investment.

Claudia is qualified in both civil and common law jurisdictions — a combination that allows her to navigate the procedural and substantive differences across different legal traditions, work seamlessly with counsel from different backgrounds, and bring a truly comparative perspective to complex cross-border disputes.

Claudia is a recurrent speaker at international arbitration and litigation finance conferences and has been a guest lecturer at Duke University, Fordham University, and Universidad Javeriana.
